Course Overview

The General Pest Technician course has been designed to provide people working in the pest management sector with quality skillsets in technical identification,  management, safety and compliance with the most commonly encountered urban pests.
  • CPPUPM3005 Manage pests without applying pesticides
  • CPPUPM3006 Manage pests by applying pesticides
  • CPPUPM3018 Maintain equipment and pesticide storage area in pest management vehicles

Students will be issued a Statement of Attainment for completed units of competency. Prior to enrolment and upon completion, please consult your state’s licensing authority on their Pest Technician licensing requirements.

All units are assessed holistically through the online portal, and consist of:
  • Theory Assessment
  • Practical Video Assessments
  • Logbook

All students must have:

To ensure our students can apply their pest control course training in an industry environment, Rapid Training requires all students to either be employed or have pre-arranged and documented work placement*, under an accredited technician.

During the placement the student must complete a logbook of:

  1. 10 General Pest inspections and treatments.

*The Work Placement Agreement form, from the licensed/accredited technician must be provided during enrolment to confirm work placement.

  1. Online Lessons: Course material is interactive and readily available from our training portal.
  2. Webinars: Access recorded webinars, hosted by our trainers, covering key course materials.
  3. Student Support Hour: Virtual face to face support with our trainers, for assistance with course material and assignments held twice a week.
  4. Chat & Support Requests: Use our online training portal to submit your course or assessment queries 24/7 using either our ‘Student Support Request digital form or our leave a message for a trainer with the chat function.
  5. Digital forms are available in the online training portal for students request course extensions, suspensions, or cancellations (if required).
  6. Other: To provide additional support and reference, students are encouraged to purchase/source copies of:
    1. Textbook “Urban Pest Management in Australia”
    2. “Bed Bugs Codes of Practice”
