Farm Insurance

Following are general details of the types of cover that are available under a farm or rural insurance policy:

  • Home Property - covers your buildings and or contents for either defined events or accidental loss or damage.
  • Farm Property - covers physical loss or damage caused by defined events. 
  • Farm Machinery - covers physical loss of damage caused by defined events.
  • Theft - covers theft of your farm property or farm machinery or other specified items from your farm property.
  • Hay, Fencing, Livestock and Farm Trees - provides cover for fire, and other defined events (excluding theft).
  • Business Interruption - provides compensation to you in the event that an insured event, like a fire, causes an interruption to your farming business.
  • Liability - covers you for amounts you are legally liable to pay as compensation for Personal injury and/or Property damage occurring as a result of an occurrence in connection with your farming business.
  • Machinery Breakdown - cover for machinery against breakdown caused by sudden & unforeseen physical destruction or damage.
  • Road Transit - covers for loss or damage to goods while in a conveying vehicle on land caused by one or more of the Defined Events.
  • Personal Income - provides for payment of a set percentage of the Capital Sum Insured if the Insured Person suffers from an injury resulting in a defined event, and/or a weekly benefit for Temporary Total Disablement as a result of a Defined Event or sickness or a Temporary Partial Disablement as a result of a Defined Event.
  • Farm Motor - cover is provided for vehicles used in connection with the farming business and private vehicles of the property owner.
