Vehicle Insurance

> Vehicle Insurance designed for the Pest, Weed, Agricultural Specialists & Building Inspectors. <

PestShieldVehicle Insurance underwritten by Lumley General Insurance Limited, exclusively for RAPID Solutions. It is designed specifically to protect urban & agricultural pest & weed control and building inspection vehicles and has several very important benefits when compared to 'ordinary' vehicle policies that aren't written with the needs of these professionals in mind. Such as:

Clean-up Costs -
This feature provides you with up to $100,000 of cover for the cost to clean up or remove debris resulting from goods & chemicals falling or leaking from your vehicle.
Equipment Cover -
Your fixed and removable equipment including pumps & tanks can be covered by the PestShield policy if you select this option. Without this protection you might find yourself thousands of dollars out of pocket trying to replace your gear after an accident or theft.
Vehicle Rental Cover -
In the event of your vehicle being stolen you can be protected for the cost of a rental vehicle for 14 days while your vehicle is located or replaced.

Other benefits available include payment for Signwriting, Tyre Replacement, Lease Payout, Uninsured Motorist Protection and Movement of Other Vehicles (if you have an accident when moving someone else's car to gain access to an area).

> Private & Commercial Motor Insurance <

We are also able to provide standard motor vehicle insurance through other insurers. There are four basic insurance cover options:

  • Compulsory third party (injury). Commonly referred to CTP, you must obtain this insurance to register your car. This policy insures you against claims made against you for personal injuries arising out of the use of your car. We are only able to offer this cover in NSW.
  • Third Party Property Damage - insures you, for your liability for damage to another car or to the property of others, (a fence, for example). This cover does not provide cover for your own vehicle damage.
  • Third Party, Fire and Theft - this insures you against the third party liabilities (as mentioned above) plus fire and theft. It does not provide cover for damage to your car as a result of an accident.
  • Comprehensive - this insures you for third party property damage, fire and theft (as mentioned above), plus damage caused to your own car by you or another party, in an accident.

There are many different policies available on the market. Therefore when buying a vehicle insurance policy you should consider the:

No Claim Bonus
- As a reward for having continually comprehensive vehicle insurance with no claims, your insurer will reward you with a no claim bonus discount. This discount is then applied to the premium that you have to pay. If you do claim, your bonus is reduced, although if the accident is not your fault, certain insurers will leave your bonus intact. Once you have gained the maximum no claim bonus, some insurers will provide you with an option to "protect" your no claim bonus by paying an extra premium, so you're not penalised for just one claim.
Excess
- This is the amount payable by you in relation to an insurance claim. However if a third party is responsible for the claim and they can be identified, then generally you may not have to pay this amount.
Market Value or Agreed Market Value
- most policies provide settlement for a total loss claim (the car is stolen or irredeemably damaged) on a "market value" basis. This means you are entitled to an amount representing the cost of a vehicle of similar make, model, age and condition. Or, if the vehicle is less than one year old, many insurers will replace it with a new vehicle of the same make and model you lost.

An Agreed Market Value cover is where the insurer and yourself agreed on a value that the vehicle is to be insured for. In the event of a total loss this is the amount that you should be paid.

Some insurers may only provide you with one of the above options as their standard cover.
