This insurance policy can provide you cover for your electronic equipment at your premises and also anywhere in Australia. Following is a summary of the sections of cover that are available under an electronic equipment insurance policy.
> Hardware & Software <
Depending on the actual insurance policy, this section generally provides cover for:
- fire & perils being fire, lightning, thunderbolt, earthquake, storm & tempest
- accidental damage
- theft
- breakdown
> Section 2 - Data Restoration <
This section of the Policy provide you with cover for the the cost of restoring data, following Loss or in the event that data is corrupted by power interruption, or by failure of the external telecommunications network, whilst the data is loaded into a hardware system. Cover is provided for the costs necessary to restore or re-key such data as charged at normal market rates by a competent external person.
> Section 3 - Increased Cost of Working <
Following loss or damage which is insured by the policy, the insurer will pay the Increased Cost of Working reasonably for the use of alternative electronic equipment, and/or; the use of manual methods of performing the function; so that you can maintain normal business operations, until either the item is repaired or replaced or for the duration of the time period determined by the policy.
