We kicked off with the ever popular happy hour (sponsored by Syngenta) at the Jupiters Pool Bar. This was a great chance to catch up with old friends and make new connections.
The next morning Bruce Sullivan made sure we were all in the right frame of mind to get the very most out of the conference with an inspirational keynote speech (sponsored by Ensystex).
The focus was on how we can be the best version of ourselves with Bruce sharing some personal stories that really sent the message home.
The keynote speech was followed by a full day of presentations by distinguished speakers from both Australia and overseas. As in previous years, there was a stream of presentations on timber pests, urban pests, building inspections and business operations but this year we also introduced a new stream for those who are new to the industry and it proved very popular.
The gala dinner (sponsored by BASF) was a great success with 350 attending. Rowan and Pania Gregson of Pestec were presented with the 2015 Pest Manager of the Year Award. Congratulations to the Pestec team and also to the winners of the other categories.
After the awards ceremony, Dave Hughes had us all roaring with laughter with hilarious tales told as only as he can. For some, the festivities continued well into the night.
The presentations continued the next morning and a special high tea was organised for partners.
That night we visited the Southport Bowling Club for barefoot bowls, food and drink. Well done to Paul Reid (Riverland Pest Management) and Anthony Beyer (Murray Pest Control - Jamestown) who won.
Sunday saw the return of the golf day that was held at Emerald Lakes Golf Club. The Ambrose format suited those who just went along for some fun as well as those keen to get their hands on the trophy. Congratulations to Warren Bruce, Peter Packham, Alan Walker and Chris Mills who won the trophy.
We would like to thank all of those who attended and we hope that you took a lot away from the conference.
Work now begins for us to deliver an even bigger and better event in 2017. See you there.
